Decisions and Performance in Venture Capital and Demo Day

Every year, venture capture firms invest billions into financing start-ups. But what exactly do VCs do behind the curtains, and how strong are their returns? Besides the potential for financial losses, what risks do VC firms incur?

Join Steven Neil Kaplan, Neubauer Family Distinguished Service Professor of Entrepreneurship and Finance and Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation Faculty Director, in San Francisco, where he will discuss his recent research on venture capital performance, and how successful VCs make decisions.  Following this discussion, two start-ups from the Polsky Center's top-ranked Edward L. Kaplan, '71, New Venture Challenge program will pitch their business in a Demo Day format.
