Infrastructure

Amidst the ongoing political instability of its neighbors, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to be a top target for infrastructural investment—evidenced by a recent WEF report rating their infrastructure as among the best in the world.

UAE’s successful bid to host the World Expo 2020 has served to further underscore this confidence, increase the resources being applied to infrastructural development, and set a definitive timeline for expanding the existing body. As a result, the country has seen renewed emphasis for projects already in the planning stages, ranging from the development of public transport systems to telecommunication resources to sustainable energy innovations, not to mention increased spending on social infrastructure including housing, education, and health care.

Such increased growth and demand is inevitably accompanied by a degree of controversy; UAE’s infrastructural development is no exception, and we aim to address the many questions and challenges faced in the process.

Chicago Booth invites you to join us in Dubai for a discussion with Booth alumni, seasoned investors, and policymakers who will share their expertise and perspective on the current environment. Hear their take on the future of infrastructural development in UAE.
